Installed wiring harness, idles high? 700

I have a 1985 760 turbo. I installed a new wiring harness,intake manifold, injector seals. The car idled at about 2000 rpms. I unplugged the idle motor under the manifold and it idled down. It idled well for a minute but after driving it idled up to around 1000 to 1500. It seems that whenever I unplug and plug it in the idle will temporarily drop. Do you think my intake manifold gasket is leaking? The throttle control thing by the gas pedal cables I am not sure what it does.
