Some oil leakage 200 1990

I have a 1990 volvo 240 DL SW manual . Today I notice engine oil leakage from
the seal which is close to where the thermostat housing is .I could think of that the gasket which joins the top section of engine . (ie the cover which covers the cam shafts etc ) .What could be the reason any undue pressure within the top section or just gasket has lived its life .
If you have any other suggestions then pl tell me.
Also I have not been able to locate the PCV valve . I have hayen's manual but there also there is only a cross section through system which does not help much
