My overdrive can get downright ornery when the cold weather strikes. Normally it is fairly good at coming on when the little gearshift button is pushed, but sometimes it just won't come on for several miles [and after several pushes on the button]. Then it does its thing and all is well for the remainder of the trip. It is particularly noticeable when the temperatures drop down below ten degrees Celsius [about 40 on the neanderthal scale for those folks still bogged down in the past:) ], but it will sometimes do its little trick even in the summer.
This has been going on for several years now so it is no big thing to me but I just wondered if anybody else had experienced this kind of stubbornness or if it is unique to my experience.
My prime suspect is the solenoid but they are a little on the pricey side to go taking off and trying out a new one. Wouldn't want to do that only to find it was the relay or something else.
