Friend at work has a post 83 245 wagon with a toasted front spindle. Wheel bearing siezed and is welded to the spindle and he/we are worried about galling if he tries to force the old bearing off, so are looking at a spindke swap.
Having never done it I hit Bentley and found NADA-haven't got a Haynes, Chilton is only useful as a table shim. Does the casting at the bottom of the strut come off and permit pressing out the spindle? We have access to a donor but want to know if its a strut swap of a simple unbolt and swap of the lower casting?
