Been finding interesting types of Volvo/Blackstone radiators.
Has anyone else seen these, and anyone know which came earlier and which holds up better?
Or are any of the two non-usual types below the result of some aftermarket neck repair kit?
OK, we all know the standard usual: aluminum with plastic end caps. End caps include hose connectors molded on as one piece. Connectors break off after 15 years or so. Hose connectors have fine circular ridges but no wide lip to secure the hose + clamp.
Found this summer: Volvo radiator, plastic end caps, hose necks are one piece smooth (fine-ridged) plastic and look like the above, until you look in the neck. Metal sleeve added for strength.
Found just last week, pick-n-pulled this a.m.:
Volvo radiator, plastic end caps, solid nylon (or at least looks like nylon) necks for all 3 hose connections. Necks have a lip like most non-Volvo radiator necks. These necks are transluscent, yellowish-white. Necks are brownish in parts, I think it's rust staining.
Has anyone seen these? Any history?
