stalling, rough idle 200 1981

My 81 245 is idling a bit roughly, and more troubling, it stalls once in a while. It has newish plugs and wires...I am thinking fuel filter, don't know when it was changed before I bought it. Any ideas? Anyone have similar problems caused by old fuel filter?
