........I can't get the frickin' window handles off the door, to move the door panel, to replace the front speakers !!!!!

It looks as if they should simply pull straight off the crank mechanism after removing the little trim piece, and the single retaining screw. But, they're tight as a drum --- both the driver's and passenger side of this '80 GT !

I hate to pry too much, worrying that I'll break something ! I've put a little pressure on with a screwdriver, and with a wonder bar -- not even loosening up.

I had another one of these cars a few years back, and I seem to recall they just pulled straight off with little effort after removing the screw.....I was very surprised to meet this resistance.

Am I missing something -- or have they maybe just been in the same place for 25 years (the speakers do look original).......or is this just one of those weeks where absolutely NOTHING is going to go right ????
