spring rates in lowered 142 140-160 1968

I am running chopped 160 springs in the front of my 140, with 245 coils in the back, and KYB shocks. The springs were quite rusty when I took them off the 69 164. After cutting 1 and 3/4 coils off and, I find the car to be too bouncy. Would anybody happen to know what the spring rate for this coil should be? I know I should be looking for coils that are around 500lb/square inch. I would really like to keep the car at this ride height, and cost is an option right now. Would replacing all the bushings up front improve things drastically or should I just save up for the Vp development coils? What have some of the ITB racers done to achieve their low stance?
p.s sorry about my last message appearing 3 times! and I bought a used valve for $20
Thanks,

Chris w. 68 142
