Hello,
folks.
My 1989 740 wagon (a.t.) 8 valve non-turbo just won't start! It just spins and spins, not even a sputter. I checked my crank position sensor, it seems ok? Does anyone know of other faulty signs regarding a crank sensor? The rpm guage needle shows slight movement when I try and start the car. I disconnected my fuel line from the rear of the pressure valve and cranked the motor several times, and not one drop of gas emerged from the line. I did notice a broken vacuum line from my criuse control connection too. Might it be my pressure valve at the fuel rail, 2. could it be my fuel pump in the tank? or 3. can a fuel filter become so clogged that it would totally impede gas flow to the engine? The car has about 415,000 original miles, and is well cared for. I also checked the timing belt, and it was ok. I have replaced fuel pumps/assemblies before, but only when I had to due because of badly corroded lines. Could it possibly be a electrical connection at the top of the assembly in tank unit? Please all of your help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in Advance. I have to drive my 1988 740 wagon same as above, it has 438,000 original miles on it.
Best Regards
