240 wagon antenna removal 200

can someone please tell me how to remove the antenna from the front guard on my wagon? The radio is sounding dreadful. Some time ago I removed and replugged it in (whacking big rectangular plug on the back)and it then worked great for a while.

Maybe the antenna wire is faulty. Regardless, the antenna has been broken off and jammed back in so its electrical integrity may be a little worse than 'as new'.

It's a RH drive model and the antenna is on the left mudguard near to the windscreen corner. Thought I'd better post before opening the guard with tinsnips to get to it.
