1990 240 M47 to M46 conversion woes 200 1990

Had 5 speed M47 quit working on my Daughters 90 240. In reading posts, and searching forums, decided to put in a M46 with O/D, and add the wiring myself.

Got a used m46 from a local graveyard (unknown vintage), that had the knockout for the flywheel sensor in the bell housing (but it wasn't knocked out yet).

The Throwout arm and Bearing were different between the 2 transmissions.

Swapped the Throwout arm from the M47 to the M46, and put new bearing on.

All bolted together, and now getting clutch slippage (where none was present before, and mostly on hard acceleration while in gear) All electrical connections working great.

In talking to local shops (and the dealer)the m46 from 79-84 has a diff bearing than the 85-93, and since I had different arms and bearings, that may date the transmission to 79-84. (the 79-84 has a different flywheel, with a different flywheel sensor)

My questions are these... 1) should I have used the throwout arm/bearing from the replacement transmission? 2) do I need to put a different clutch in? 3) if diff clutch needed, how do I know which one to buy? 4) or should I spend more $$ and find another used m47?
