Hello Everyone!
I removed the throttle body for the first time on an '87 240.
I very carefully sprayed a small amount (more like a few drops) of throttle body cleaner in while keeping the TPS pointed up and wiped with a cloth. I decided to remove the TPS and do a more thorough cleaning. I believe some throttle cleaner may have gotten into the sensor. I've read it can cause damage, is that due to the fact that the cleaner is conductive? Is there any way to open the sensor and clean it with quick drying electric contact cleaner? Anyone have any suggestions? How about how to re-calibrate the TPS when re-installing?
Thanks!
