Radio Antenna Problem 700

Help Please,
For a radio (original equip) with power antenna on 1990 740. The antenna is stuck and juice is present at the motor assembly. Radio will occasionally work but will pick up very few stations but most of the times it generates lousy noise.

I picked up a second hand volvo radio off a 1992 940 with a factory alarm (has programmed code) along with code. It turned out the male/female connectors are different alrgough radio front panels are almost identical. Any idea if this radio will ever work before experimenting with differnt plugs/connectors???

Thanks in advance for any tips.
