loose rear brake lens, '91 740 sedan

experts, I have a 1991 740 sedan, and noticed that when I shut my trunk the other day, the left rear brake/etc. plastic lens assembly was loose. I hate to lose the assembly along the road - how is it attached to the body, and is it a simple fix?
