Volvo Canadian GT crash - insurance valuation advice needed - want an original? 120-130

Another one bites the dust? I got rear ended last night and now face the daunting task of being compensated appropriately for a 123 GT in the US. Smooshed left quarter panel, rear, trunk and bumper. Sure wish I had a headreast.

I fear that an insurance adjustor will call this a loss. I have seen 10,500 for one in top shape. But what if is mechanically excellent but has a rusty body. Has anyone out there sold or bought one recently?

Another question arrives then. What is a true GT. Is it a 122 with all the GT parts or is it the body that carries the value. Or both. I am thinking about transferring the parts to another body. This one was already rusty. And of course, there have been rebuilds over the years...alternator, engine, shocks, carbs, body panels, brakes, steering box, booster.

Does anybody out there really want an original and want to do the body work?

Thanks for any input!

Happy motoring!
