so i need a new brake booster for my 73' 142. i have several used ones but they are in about the same condition as the one on the car, 30 years old. i have found some universal 7" units that have the same mounting as the volvo units. i am wanting to have more space under the hood as the care will be getting a 16v,2.5lt,b230/aq171 this year

what is the diference in feel between the older style pancake style single and the newer coffe can dual unit? would a 7" booster be able to provide the same boost as the larger volvo units.

has anyone gotten ride of the booster completely, not just disconected it. would the brake pedal feel be way to harsh without one? making a braket to mount the master by its self would not be very hard.
