Hi everyone- I have a 1988 240 DL with 129,000 Miles (recently purchased). I have changed the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, thermostat, radiator hoses and antifreeze, cleaned the flame trap and attendant hoses. The car ran fine when the weather was warm, but since it has dropped below 30 degrees F, it will not take gas when taking off from a cold start- the car will "bog", and barely get above 40 mph, if I lightly give it gas. If I floor it, it will bog and barely move. I noticed that the pre heater hose is in poor shape, and it seems that if I let the car warm up fully before driving it (approximately 30 minutes or so) it will run fine. The idle is smooth, and it will take gas if in park. I recently drove the car about 10 miles while it was running poorly, it didn't smooth out at all. I shut the car off to pick my son up from daycare (5 minutes or so) and restarted it, it ran perfectly. Before I changed the thermostat, the heat gauge was very erratic, sometimes the heater was blowing cold air. After I changed the thermostat, the heater always blows hot air, but the heat gauge is only reading about 1/4 to 1/3 above the cold mark, at all times during driving. The outside temperature here in Ohio is about 25 degrees. Any ideas on these symptoms? thanks- Brett
