....I was replacing the torque rods, rear shocks and Catalytic converter on my wagon.
Well, I ate a big lunch with desert and then went out around 12:30. I had already bought some torque rods from the boneyard, cleaned them up and had the old bushings pressed out so all I had to do was to install them.
I was pretty upset when I found that the bushings that I had replaced last summer (2004) were bad again. The shocks that I replaced were also leaking.
I cannot stress enough....Buy the best part you can afford unless you like doing it twice. Irv Gordan (2 million mile P1800) said he always bought genuine Volvo parts.
It was like driving a new car this morning. All the rear end noises that I had gotten used to were gone. The poly bushings don't have the harsh ride I was expecting. The shocks are Monroes that I got from O'Reilly auto parts store and were only a little over $50. for the set. I got the more expensive ones and they ride great.
I can't wait to drive home this afternoon.
