I have a 87 240

when the enginge is running it sounds like i have a knocking noise. I'm wondering what the problem could be.

also i plan on driving this car to minnesota from california and i was wondering is it better to get the car fine tuned from the dealer or from an outside mechanic. Whats your opinion?

I can do alot of work myself, but want it tuned a bit to run better. It aslo has a newer engine or rebuilt engine.
