Passenger Door Lock Mechanism 700 1989

I have a dead solenoid in the rear passenger door -- the door only locks manually now. I the mechanism a complicated job to re and re? Looks like a couple of torx wrenches on the outside -- but am concerned about what is inside. Any help/suggestions would be very much appreciated.
