Neutral Safety Switch question 200

I've got no reverse lights on my '85 240 GL. I've checked the fuse, bulb/sockets, and circuit board and all are fine so I assume it's the NSS. I saw a previous post with a tutorial on cleaning and re-soldering a NSS and wondered, if I got a new NSS, wouldn't it be easy to remove the leads off the old one and re-solder them onto to the new switch and save a step trying to clean up the old one? Make sense?
