HAS ANYONE CONVERTED A B234 TO A B230 ??????????? 700 1992

Ok I have a 92 940 16 valve. i just bought it for 400$, and the timing belt broke so the head is toast, and i guess it over heated too so its way too expensive to get the head redone , plus the motor has 300,000 miles and i think it has piston slap as well.
anyways if you have converted a b234 to a b230 can you give me any tips at all, cause that is what i think the best route to go is.
I have all the parts i would need to convert, i work at a volvo reck yard.
I just need to know what would need to be done.
any tips would help alot
