Hi everyone,
I sold both my 745s (one to make up for buying the V90 and the other because the buyer REALLY wanted it). Anyway, now I need to find a replacement because I'm not driving the V90 in the winter. Yesterday, out of shear luck I was down at the local boat yard checking on our boat as it just snowed. There was a nice looking 964 parked beside another boat and I had to stop and ask :) Turns out the owner is considering selling! (two cars, one parking space) Anyway, it just gets better. It's a '94 964 that he bought while he was in Florida earlier this year. So, during a long talk with the owner he told me his history with the car and I took a look at it. I don't think I've ever seen a 12 year old Volvo in that good condition! Like this car is MINT. The outside is great except for a few dents and a little fading on the trunk. The inside is as new except for some minor wear on the driver's seat and under the hood and chassis is like new. I couldn't believe it. I'd drive it year round, but with a good rustproofing and proper maintenance it should stay in great shape for a long time. I told the owner my price range and he seemed to be pretty pleased. He said he'd call me after he gave it some thought. Anyway, I wanted to know if '94 is a good year for the 960. Do they have the wiring harness problems of the '95s? Porous block issues? Other problems? I know they have a longer t-belt interval then the earlier 960s. Would they be considered as reliable as the later 960/S/V90s? Any other '94 info would be great. My other options so far are a nice '89 780T and last night I found a '94 or '95 945 for sale..... I wasn't considering another B6304 because of the complicated design, but this car is in such fantastic shape. Thanks in advance for any
info/advise!
PS- Do all '94s have locking rear diffs? Pretty important in the winter around here. I didn't take note of wheather it has heated seats or not.
