240 IPD OD bypass kit= Blown Tranny! 200

Hi guys,
I have an 83 240 that had a problem with the OD(as many do). Anyway, I drove it for about 6 months with no OD and then finally broke down and bought the IPD bypass kit. IT WORKED PERFECT! Finally I had 4th gear! However, after 2 months of driving with OD working great, the tranny began to slip with winter. I flushed and checked the fluid often. Last week, she blew on the Mass. Pike on the way home. What a bummer..... finally OD and then the tranny stopped working. Now the fluid smells like a burned rubber tire/ashtray.
It is over for her. I only want to share this with other AW 71 folks and let you know what happened to me.
I really believe that the IPD kit is fantastic. I blame myself for letting me take so long to purchase it. Perhaps if I had bought it immediately after OD failure, the trans would still be alive. It is hard to tell......

Just an FYI, and I am open to comment.

Thanks,
Jeremy
