I'm snow and ice bound here at home today-just wondering if the problem I have with the strange occurance of my heater operating stronger when I apply my brakes is from a vacuum leak. Would there be a surge in vacuum pressure when I apply the brakes making this happen. I checked all my check valves and have found them to be ok. I pulled the hose off the firewall that feeds my climate control with engine off and after taking that hose off it took a few secounds for all the air to stop rushing in. Guess that shows it's holdong vacuum there, also is holding vacuum in the brake booster. I hooked a vacuum line to the feed that goes to my heater valve out near the fire wall -not the valve it'self but where it comes out from the interior. I then hooked my vacuum machine that I pump up and it would leak down slowly, but still leak down.
I could hear a little air moving inside the car when I did this.
Is this the dreaded valve thats impossible to reach with out taking every thing down to get to and possibly have two people to pull like hell to get at?
All help and ideas accepted.
