Ok, call me Sally. I broke down and went to a mechanic. Not a whole lot came out of spending 500 bucks. Anyways, I ended up replacing most of the parts myself. I need an auxiliary air valve. So, I installed it. Well right now, until tomorrow, the lower hose is cracked. I asked the mechanic if this would effect the start up and idle of the car...as of right now, my car starts rough and idles sort of rough. He said "with a crack there, your engine is receiving more air than the air mass meter is seeing, causing the engine to run rough". Does anyone think a small leak in that area would cause hard starts and rough idle? Or am I just really skeptic when it comes to mechanics?
