mystery stumble on 81 turbo... fuel problem? electrical gremlins? 200

Hi all,

I've been trying to track down a stumbling / missing problem on my sedan and keep coming up short. Perhaps someone with more 240 turbo experience can chime in.

Symptoms: presently, poor start (esp since our weather has turned cold) followed by sometimes heavy stumbling that smooths out greatly when a little gas is given, then it settles into a good idle. Running: feels like a bad spark plug - on some accelerations, there are no issues. Boosting fine, pulls strongly. Other times, it misses irregularly and frequently through the rpms. Under high boost and 3500k+ rpm, there seem to be no stumbles. Occassional "pops" through back of exhaust on decel.

Previous attempts/ problems:
Had a clogged injector - replaced it, ran much better. Went ahead and replaced all of them.
Fuel mixture adjusted and fuel system pressure checked by a shop - all within spec.
Tune up parts replaced - plugs, wires, cap& rotor

The car ran stronger after all of that, but the missing was still there.

Next- examined the coil / cleaned it. Looks fine.
- figured it could be the impulse sender in the distributor.. replaced it. Nope!
- Clogged fuel filter?? - replaced that (had one laying around)... nope!

Hmm.... well, now I'm stumped.

Other specifics that may or may not be helpful: compression is fine, turbo is recent rebuild and boosts smoothly, car is a 4spd+od and has the intercooler kit on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This thing is just a LITTLE more complex than my 64 122!
