960 rough idle 900 1992

Hey gang. I guess I will start with a discaller. There are probably some you that can identify but with all of the awesome help here and the advice on the FAQ I have become obscessed with getting this car running as smooth as possible. And after investing all the time on that car, I am sensitive the littler things.

I have a 92 960 that has 140K on it. I just got it and I or the previous owner have replaced every sensor imaginable (minus the knock sensors). Last week I replaced the second ignition controller out of necessity. While I was at it I started to chase down a poor idle problem and wanted to give it a tune up.

Here is what I did:
new plugs
replaced the intake gasket
removed injectors, gently cleaned and replaced seals.
cleaned throttle body
fixed and cleaned a couple vacuum hoses
replaced the breather box and hoses

Now that everything is back together, the car runs great with more power and it feels smoother. However, the idle still seems pretty rough and there is a noticable shimmy at idle. It stays steady around 700 rpms.
Since I just replaced the intake gasket, I thought that may be leaky so I tried spraying carb cleaner near each intake one at a time but nothing evened out the idle.

Some of the valves tick like a sewing machine but that has subsided a bit. Right now it has some fairly new Castrol High Mileage 20w 50. I will be running some chevron techron fuel cleaner to see if that helps. I will also be trying the old italian tune up and switching to Mobil 1 10w 30 after the cleaner runs through. Then running the tune up again with the mobil 1.

Here is the big catch though. The center muffler has a rather significant leak on its rear seam. Could that be enough to make the idle rough? I am planning on replacing it this week so I follow up once the part comes in.

Another question is: Could this be due to a Oil Pickup Tube O-Ring problem? I really don't want to drop the oil pan. I just changed the oil pan gasket on an 81 240 and it was not too fun.
