The 85 MPH speedo on my '80 242GT is running 12-16 MPH fast; it's off more the faster I go. It doesn't "bounce" or anything, just shows faster than actual speed.

I have the factory Virgo wheels and original size tires.

Am I safe in surmising it has the wrong speedo gear coming out of the side of the tranny ? If so, any special "tricks" to changing it out with the right one ?
