Fuel pump prime? 200 1986

This is about my '86 240. When I turn the key into the on position, before starting, I don't hear the buzz of the fuel pump. We own two other 240s and they both have the buzz, which I assume is the pump being primed. Is this something wrong with the fuel pump or relay? Thanks folks!
