760 GLEs in general 700

I now have a 850, but I have had 2 RWDs...a 940 and a 960, but I've never delved into any info on the 7XX series models. A co-worker is thinking about buying a 760 GLE. I called my local shop to see how much a pre-inspection check-up would be, and as we were chatting, he told me that the 6 cyl in this model is even worse than the inline 6 in the 960s. I'm going to go with her to check the car out...any things to look for...and how many miles can you expect to get out of a reasonably well-maintained engine in these models? And, is it an interference engine (a timing belt change would cost about as much as she's gonna pay for the car...)?
