got the Service light after washing car... 900 1995

I turned on the car to pull it into the garage after washing it, but when i cranked it up the service light cam on, first time i have ever seen it. Air around the car had a much heavier than usual exhaust, or even blow-by smell. Seemed rather random because of the fact that it is supposed to come on at 10k intervals, but the car is at around 123000.
