oil on top of water pump

my '91 740 has oil pooling on top of the water pump. This occurred soon after the dealer replaced the harmonic balancer - (I don't know if this is related to the oil leak). There is no evidence of oil in the coolant fluid.

I can not see where the oil originates - any idea on the source/solution to the oil leak?
