We have been having problems with a 740 Turbo Wagon. as it stands right now the engine will start and will run BUT is stuck at about 2200 rpm and will not go below that.. if the gas pedal is pressed the engine bogs down but will not stall.. it sounds as if it is being starved of fuel but doing the fuel relay jumper test shows that the fuel pumps do indeed work .. both relays within that little white relay work as well so all i can assume is that system is working properly .. we have not been able to get a fuel pressure reading AFTER the Fuel pressure regulator.. according to the faq this was a sure fire sign that fuel pressure regulator is bad.. we replaced this piece with 2 others and still are unable to get a reading on a fuel pressure guage and we get 0 fuel coming out of the FPR if the return hose is removed.. both my father and I have been working all day on this car for the last 2 weekends and have went from getting no fuel to the fuel rail "the car failed to run origionally because of a kinked fuel line at the fuel filter inlet AND outlet" after fixing this the car ran great had lots of power and was able to get upto 100mph no problem on the free way .. but not 3 days later the problem resurfaced itself.. the engine has no power when given throttle and loud pops can be heard coming from the intake manafold/throttlebody
we cant seen to get the car to time correctly either if your standing in front of the car and turn the distributor cap all the way to the right it still was not enough to move it to the correct setting .. the closest we can get it is "15 AFTER top dead center"
please help with this.. we are here right now in california hoping that some good gearheads are online to put in there 2 cents on this issue.. ask questions and ill reply as fast as possible.. anything just to get this car out of my house along with the crazy aunt that dropped it off x.x
if you need pictures of anything ask as well.. i can take them with the digi cam and host them rather quickly.. lets all learn what the hell is wrong with this awesome yet frustrating auto
