Hunting idle when cold 200 1984

My 240 has an odd habit:

Start it up and it idles fine, about 800 rpm. As soon as I touch the accelerator and drive, the idle starts fluctuating fairly fast. It usually dies once or twice, unless I use the accelerator to keep it alive. After a few minutes of driving, the idle calms down. Still hunts a little, but nothing dramatic.

Cleaning the throttle body hasn't cured it, though it does help.

I wonder whether the fuel injector O-rings are allowing vacuum leaks, but then warm up enough to expand. Or is there some sensor that would go bad and cause these episodes?

All insight gratefully accepted.
