9007 headlight conversion 200

Hi:
several web sites talk about replacing the old 9004 bulb with a similar but better 9007 bulb. The filament position is different but the standard output is 55w on low, as on almost all twin filament halogen bulbs, and unlike the 9004 with its 45w output. This is NOT enough difference to melt wires or reflectors, but it could be a noticeable improvement (based on the same situation between the standard 200mm sealed beam and the "high output or XTRA Vision" DOT approved 6024 units). The socket plug is the same, but you must cut and reverse 2 wires. NOW, it also says that the 3 tabs on the headlight reflector must have 2 clipped off, leaving just the common one. However, looking at a 9004 and 9007 bulb seem to indicate the same notch arrangement, but I haven't taken them out of box at WalMart. There is also question of Volvo bulb relay function. I would assume the relay would still work with 2 matched bulbs. Anyway, if one does a search under 9004, you will find hits on Altima and Integra user groups / web sites with pictures.Comments?
