Just a post for the archives to let folks know that the drivebelt bushing replacement is a huge improvement on high mileage motors. I have 230k miles on a 1989 765 Tic and was hearing the swish-swish sound that is usually either the WP or the belts. Replacing the three drive belts and the bushings on the alternator and the car is much quieter at idle.
The swish-swish sound is gone and now I'm planning to replace the AC compressor bushings at the next timing belt change, along with the HB (due to mileage). I put the new bushings in the freezer for several hours and had no difficulty inserting them in their bores. I also used Syn-Lube, so that probably helped too. I used the rubber OEM replacements from FCPgroton, figuring that if they last 150k miles, the car will be in someone else's hands or the boneyard by then anyway.
