fluid in rear muffler noticed when replacing. 700 1985

I recently replaced my rear muffler with a somewhat cheap after market wagner.

real easy to remove and replace with new one.

I noticed that there was about cup or two of dark oily looking fluid in the muffler when looking into the end facing the front of the car.

Is this nomal water from condesation and a regular occurance or could it be a symptom of larger problem.

Unfortunately I didn't drain it into anything to take a look see and sniff prior to tossing it.
