which way to put metal washers for crank gear? 700

i am replacing the timing belt on my 1989 740GL. Which direction do the two washers on the crankshaft go? i know the outer one faces concave out. the one between the block and the gear is what i am confused about. does it face concave out like the outer one or towards the block? thanks
