Ball joint nut question. 200

It's my first time doing ball joints. The new Moog ball joints came with Nyloc nuts to hold them in their housings. The nuts have no flange and no washers are included, so there is not a whole lot of bearing surface when they are torqued down into the ball joint housing. I'm sure it's OK this way as provided by Moog, but I'm tempted to use new 18mm flange locking nuts, the kind that are used all over the suspension on this 93. It's the same nut that was on the car holding the ball joints to the a-arm, for example. I have some new ones, part number 969317. They have a nice flange, like a built in washer, and would provide much more bearing surface between the nut and housing. Like the Moog nuts, they also have a "10" marked on them. They are black instead of a gold/silver color like the ones that came with the balljoints. I know this is a picky/detail question, but I'm trying to learn more about fasteners and am interested in getting more opinions before putting this thing together.
