Oil leak at front crank seal 120-130 1968

After some high speed cruising on the highway over 2005 I've delevoped an oil leak at the front crank seal at the timing cover. I'll say my mechanical skills are in the junior range (bodywork, rebuilt my carbs, installed exhaust, intakes, fuel pumps). My manual say it's probably a damaged seal ring and it looks pretty easy to remove and replace. Has anyone done this before? Do I need a torque wrench? The manual say nothing of special tools; is this correct? Is this going to be a knuckle buster? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!
