1)Well, I now have sunk about $2500 into my $100 "steal" of a '90 245 w/158k. All new brakes, alternator, starter, timing belt, shocks, tires, eexhaust, various etc etc. The body is OK for NE Ohio, so I'm hoping it lasts. Once you start, it's hard to stop because you think after only this... nothing for awhile.
2) Couldn't figure out why it was running crappy intermittently when warm and just re-started and had a place end up replacing the ECU (used) for $275 plus labor. That cured the running crappy when warm but it stll idles bad, wouldn't start the other morning and the plugs were fouled. Replaced plugs and it started right up, but cured the symptom not the cause. Has a new O2 sensor and new coolant temp sensor. Ideas?
3)I'm thinking of just getting a new or rebuilt AMM just to rule that out now & in the future. FCP Groton has a new 016 for $215 or $159 for rebuild from Injection Labs. I don't want to spend $315 for a new Bosch. I've replaced several of these over the years in 240's & figure I might as well now even if it's not the cause, make sense?
