M46 jumps out of gear 200 1983

My 83/242 has a M46 with electric OD.This past night the car started jumping out of 4th gear,I know that the car needs a new clutch assy.What do I need to look for when taking the transnission out.Is there some adjustment on the transmission are do I need to replace the transmission also.I have a extra transmission here on the shelf that I know is good.
