I have a 740 GL Turbo 4 door 1990 Volvo. I have a bit of a problem. The other night I hit something on the Interstate that someone didn't tie down. Anyway, it the passenger side of teh car so I pulled over and checked and it appeared that nothing happend, checked it over, the car was still running, etc. So I continued to my destination and then afterwards traveled back. 1 mile from my house the car dies. I try to turn it over, won't start, shut off the lights, the car starts, turn on the parking lights, the car starts, try to switch on the lights, the car dies. So I drove the car home with my parking lights on (at 8 PM), I get the car home, as I was driving home I tried to switch on the headlights, the car wants to stall and I quickly switch on the parking lots, car doesn't stall. So I get the car home and I disconnect the passeneger side headlight, make sure the lights are off, and try to start the car, it doesn't start. I reconnect the lights, make sure the lights are turned off, and try to start the car. It starts. Switch on the parking lights, it starts. Try to switch on the headlights, it stalls and dies. I then attempt to start the car with the headlights switch on and it will start briefly, less then a second and it dies. I examined the headlight wires and they seem to be fine, no cuts or exposed wires touching metal anywhere. I examined the headlight bulb and it seems fine. My question is, why won't it start. Is it a fuse? The wiring? Something else all together? My first time trying the site and I'm curious what everyone thinks. Thanks,
