I just took the radio out of my car to see if it still works, to clean it up, and try and get some information on it. Looks to be a possible original unit (vintage looking, and the car ('65 122) sat in a junkyard from 1983 until I pulled it out in 1999). I've been using a radio on the floor hooked up to the cigarette lighter, but now I'm going to start driving it more as a daily driver.
The sticker on the radio says "Blaupunkt-Autoradio, Frankfurt US, KDB 941-810", and it has FM/AM/M (Don't know what the "M" frequency is? Anyone here? Would be neat to actually pick up something on the "M" frequency).
It has an additional unit behind the radio, that the sticker calls a commutators. Looks like the extra unit allow the radio to work in 12v/6v/negative ground/positive ground cars.
I would like to know any information about it, but would like to know if this is the stock unit or was it added after the car was purchased.
Another interesting thing on the radio is where the speakers are hooked up to the radio, it has three holes (in straight line) for speakers to plug into (only two holes are currently plugged into the speaker), but there's a symbol next to the first and center holes that have a picture of one speaker (which is how it is hooked up now), and there's a symbol next to the center and last holes that have a picture of two speakers staked together. Can this mean that it's a stereo unit??
