Our silver brick-like family member has developed a case of not wanting to get up in the morning. (93, 210k) I'll go out there and crank the key and it will turn-over and immediately start but idle exceptionally rough. If I can get it to go beyond idle in the driveway, it'll sputter and cough as the RPM's increase, but eventually it clears up and runs ok. If it dies while it is sputtering - it simply won't start without a LOT of trying.
Once the car is warm, there is no problem to speak of outside of a little sputter at about 2300 rpm's that has been there for a long time. (That, and I need to do the timing belt....) So - any ideas on ways to fix this little problem?
Also - anyone have any input on replacing the cam seals? I've rebuilt a few engines in my time - is this a bear of a job that requires special tools?
Thanks for your time and your replies.
