I have been experimenting with charging my own air for about a year now. I have done R134 conversions. Lots of time changing all the parts, and I personally find the cooling marginal (we have very hot, very dry summers). I've had several cars done professionally by a reputable shop. Certainly there is less strain on my part...and a bunch more cost. However the cars they've done cool no better than the one I did myself. In my opinion, the R134 really does not get the job done, and I don't want to start changing evaporators and condensors. Recently I tried R12A and was unhappy with the results. I've also read about Freeze 12 (or Freze 12) and R414 Hot Shot. In fact I just did a car with Hot Shot and the results were good. However everyone is telling me it will leak through my non-barrier hoses in short order. So much for it being a drop in replacement for R12. More like drop out. What experience is out there with the R414 and the Freze 12? Any input will be appreciated. I've found only one post so far.
Regards to all,
DS
