A local independent Volvo shop has a beautiful Volvo 160 in their "graveyard". A couple of years ago, the previous owner dropped the car off for an engine rebuild and never came back to claim it. The 6-cylinder engine is rebuilt, covered in tarp in one section of the garage. The black body seems to be in good condition, with small rust beginning to show at lower front and rear corners of a couple of body panels. I know I will have a hard time finding parts, but in my opinion this is one of Volvo's best-looking models ever produced.
What are the pros and cons of purchasing this vehicle? We haven't discussed a price yet, and I will do much of the work (including replacing the engine) myself. Are there any hidden spots to watch for?
