Love this brick that started off in Colorado, where heat is essential, and then moved to California for her retirement. Most driving now is for grocery runs or Sunday drives on Highway 1. Engine is pristine--no valve jobs ever needed, never a problem with hydrocarbons or CO at smog checks. I am planning some projects (e.g., install IPD exhaust kit--she has all original pipes from rear muffler to exhaust manifold).
The heater core and blower motor are all original, so I am expecting failure at some point down the line. When this failure happens, is there anything problematic about bypassing the heater core permanently, since the car is operated in a very temperate climate? I had a pal who did this successfully and apparently w/o problems on his 80s BMW 325i.
