240 heater blows cold on the driver. 200

My daughters 85'240 has an interesting problem. The heater blows warm on the passenger side floorboard but it blows cold on the drivers side floorboard. Does anyone have an explanation for this. I'm not too familiar with the heating system and any information would be appreciated.
